By tram / By bus

From Düsseldorf main station, take the U79 tram line directly to the University (final stop: “Universität Ost/Botanischer Garten”). The journey takes approx. 20 minutes from the main station. From Düsseldorf city centre, take the U73 or U79 tram lines.

The 731, 735, 827, 835 and 836 bus lines all go to the University. To reach the event venue (building 23.01), please get out at either the “Universität West” or “Universität Mensa” stops. The bus and tram stops are marked on the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf campus plan.

Directions and parking

Please note that any vehicles parked illegally on campus will be towed away without exception.

By car | from the east

The University is best reached from the “Hildener Kreuz” interchange (A3/A46) via the “Düsseldorf-Süd” interchange (A46). Leave the A46 in the tunnel (at the 2nd exit: “Zentrum/Universität”). Turn left at the first set of traffic lights into “Universitätsstrasse”, which runs through the campus. Follow this road (towards the Faculty of Arts and Humanities) until you can turn left to either building 22.03 or car park P9.

By car | from the west

The University is best reached from the “Neuss-Süd” interchange, where the A46 and A57 merge. Follow the A46, cross the Fleher bridge over the Rhine and then take the exit “Düsseldorf Bilk/Zentrum/Hafen/Benrath”. Then take the right-hand exit to “Düsseldorf Benrath/Universität”. You are now on the road “Münchener Strasse”. Leave this road at the exit “Universität” and then turn right onto “Universitätsstrasse”. Follow this road (towards the Faculty of Arts and Humanities) until you can turn right to either building 22.03 or car park P9.

By car | from the north or south

Drive to either the “Hildener Kreuz” or “Neuss-Süd” interchange and then follow the directions from the east or west respectively.

By car | from the city centre

The university is best reached via Corneliusstrasse, then Witzelstrasse (follow the signs for Wuppertal and the A46). After passing the University Hospital buildings, turn right at “Südpark” onto “Universitätsstrasse”. Follow this road (towards the Faculty of Arts and Humanities) until you can turn left to either building 22.03 or car park P9.

Parking

A limited number of free parking spaces have been reserved in car parks P5/P9 and the underground car park of the oeconomicum (P3) on the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf campus.
